Creative market read

Your glass is made to be looked at. On Meta, that's where the room is.

This is a map, not an audit. On 21 Sep 2026 we tied 15 brands in your category to their Facebook page and checked each one in Meta's Ad Library. We read every text and still in Puffco's ads, 59 live when we read them on 21 Sep (videos from their first frame), and the Storz & Bickel ads we could open, then wrote 3 ad ideas for Jane West and a road to Black Friday.

You design the glass, you tell the story behind it, and you already sell to your own list. Every idea on this page is built from those three things.

What we can't see from outside: Meta's Library keeps past ads only when they ran in the EU, and turned-down ads never show. If you've run ads from another page, tried ads before, or chose other channels on purpose, that's the first thing we'd ask on the call.

02 · The brands still on Meta

Of the 15 brands we checked, 5 are running ads today. Two have the oldest listed ads.

Days are how long each ad has been live, as of 21 Sep 2026. Tap a video to play it.

Storz & Bickel's German page5 German ads we could read

German ads on a German page, selling the Volcano as a design object, with use shown in the background. The longest has run 209 days. A different market, so it shows the framing, not what US review allows.

03 · What holds across them

Four things that hold across them.

The first three hold for Puffco and Storz & Bickel, the ads we could see. The fourth rests on Hemper's ad titles and Session Goods' store. Running tells you an ad survived review and delivery, not that it sold.

Puffco and Storz & Bickel

The plant stays out of the frame.

Not one still we read from either brand shows it. Puffco doesn't show the device in any of the 26 distinct images we read.

Puffco and Storz & Bickel

No price, no offer, no discount in the ads running today.

None of the Puffco or Storz & Bickel ads running today mentions a price, a %, “sale” or “off”. Storz & Bickel did run a “Black Weeks” discount ad (up to 40%) last November.

Puffco and Storz & Bickel

The world comes before the spec.

Puffco sells a feeling or an event. Storz & Bickel sells an icon and a color, with one line of spec at most.

Hemper and Session Goods

Reframe the object.

3 of Hemper's 22 live ads carry titles that name the look (“Donut Family”, “Milk & Cookies Family”, “Lucky Cat Family”); the rest pull the store's product name, which often says “bong”. Some of Session Goods' product copy places its pieces beside barware. Whether their ads look that way, or whether that's why they last, we can't see.

And five ideas behind their ads.

01

Reframe the object: name it by what it looks like.

What we saw

Hemper's ads carry titles like “Donut Family” and “Lucky Cat Family”; the store calls the pieces bongs. In its store photos (15 we picked from the families its ads name; 8 of those print “bong” or “pipe” on the image), 9 are styled as food and 6 as figurines. Some of Session Goods' product copy places its pieces beside barware and on coffee tables; its titles say “Bong”.

Why it works

It may work because people buy and gift objects by what they look like and where they'll sit. A donut or a sculptural vase gets past “would I leave this out?” before anyone asks what it's for. Uneven review fits the long listings just as well.

Proof it's a pattern

Hemper: 22 live catalog ads, up to 1,028 days. Session Goods: 13 live, up to 579 days. Neither brand's ads can be opened from outside: Hemper's framing comes from its ad titles in Meta's data, Session Goods' from its store.

For Jane West

Your Twenties Collection is already named for an era and sold in colors like Mermaid, Midnight and Gold. Name and frame the glass by what it looks like and where it sits, in your design-led style rather than Hemper's novelty one.

What we can't see

Hemper and Session Goods style their glass as food and decor in their stores; we can't see whether their ads do, or whether that's why they last. “Live” in Meta's data doesn't show how much each ad delivers.

Hemper store photo: a donut-shaped clear glass piece
Hemper · store photoFrom their store: the photos their catalog ads draw on.
02

Sell the feeling. Leave the product out.

What we saw

Puffco's merch-page ads show the after: a wide grin, red-rimmed eyes, a cloud where the head should be. The viewer supplies the cause. Across the 12 distinct images on those 28 ads (6 ideas, each square and vertical), we found no device, no merch item and no price.

Why it works

A joke only insiders get turns the viewer into an insider. Nothing in the frame is for sale, so nothing in the frame is what the rule names.

Proof it's a pattern

18 concepts and 28 ads, one stack, live 11 to 26 days. A stack, not a long-runner.

For Jane West

Your glass is named by mood and era already: the Twenties in amber, cobalt, mermaid and midnight. The ad can be about the evening the glass belongs to.

Puffco · merch page ad: Before and after, one face.
Live 26 daysPuffco · merch pageBefore and after, one face.ifykykView in Meta's Ad Library
03

The event is the ad.

What we saw

31 of Puffco's ads (59 live when we read them on 21 Sep) sell PuffCon, its two-day block party: the lineup, the food, glass artists doing live demos. Puffco appears as the host. No Puffco ad sells a device.

Why it works

An event gives people a date, a reason and a crowd, which a product ad in this category can't show.

Proof it's a pattern

All 5 of Puffco's concepts live 30+ days are in this lane. The longest is 38 days. It is tied to one dated event, so it's a campaign, not an evergreen.

For Jane West

You have an occasion in your catalog already: Gameday with Jane. The season can be the subject and the product part of the scene.

What we can't see

Two things we can't rule out: PuffCon works partly because Puffco is big enough to host a festival (so the idea to borrow is the moment, not the festival), and we see what runs, not what review turned down.

Puffco · PuffCon ad: The lineup poster.
Live 10 daysPuffco · PuffConThe lineup poster.View in Meta's Ad Library
04

The click goes somewhere soft.

What we saw

All of Puffco's ads (59 live when we read them on 21 Sep) land on the event or the merch page, never a device page, and all 32 of its concepts use “Learn more” or “See details”; none uses “Shop now”.

Why it works

The ad makes the promise and the page makes the sale. The whole path stays about the event and the brand.

For Jane West

Your catalog already splits into glass that isn't a pipe, bowl or vaporizer, and glass that is. A page that holds only the first group is open to you.

Proof it's a pattern

Of the 59 live when we read them on 21 Sep: all go to the event or merch page; 0 to a device page; 0 of 32 concepts say ‘Shop now’.

05

The object as a design piece.

What we saw

Storz & Bickel sells the Volcano as an icon reissued in a named edition, on a wooden side table in a living room, and a small device as a choice of four colors.

Why it works

A named edition and a color choice turn a function into a taste decision: “which one is me”, not “do I need this”.

Proof it's a pattern

5 of the 5 ads we could read use this framing. The oldest has run 209 days. German ads on a German page, so it shows the framing, not what US review allows.

For Jane West

Your Twenties ashtray and jar each come in 8 colors. “Pick the one that suits your room” fits the glass that isn't a pipe.

04 · The opening

Most of the category isn't running on Meta today. The rule is the likeliest reason.

10 of 15

brands in your category, tied to their Facebook page, show no live Meta ads today (21 Sep 2026); 1 of those was matched by page name only. 5 do: Hemper, Session Goods, Puffco, Storz & Bickel's German page and Arizer's Europe page.

Meta's Advertising Standards, Drugs and pharmaceuticals. Advertisers can't run ads that:

Promote the sale of drug-related paraphernalia, such as bongs, rolling papers and vaporizers

Read the rule on Meta's site

The rule is the likeliest reason the category is quiet. It isn't proven: brands may have run US ads and stopped, and the Library doesn't keep those. And it doesn't keep everyone out: Hemper and Session Goods run catalog ads from stores that sell bongs; Hemper's pieces are shaped like food and figurines, and Session Goods' product copy places them beside barware.

You sell Twenties Collection ashtrays and jars in eight colors, Pink Slips cleaner and Gameday merch. None of them is a pipe, bowl or vaporizer.

What's missing: a brand in the category whose glass reads, at a glance, as cocktail-era barware for the home.

That's the opening. Your collection is named for the 1920s, so the Twenties jar and ashtray can be shot as barware on a bar cart: the look their stores give the glass, done in your own style. Hemper and Session Goods style their glass as food and decor in their stores; we can't see whether their ads do, or whether that's why they last. The bar cart is our bet, untested with Meta review, which is why the road below starts with one small jar ad.

05 · Three ideas

Three ideas for Jane West, with the words written.

Each one follows the same path: where you are, what's missing, the ad, how we'd test it, and what we can't see yet. None shows a pipe, a bowl or a price.

1

The Twenties Bar Cart

Static and a 6-second slow push-in, 4:5 and 9:16 · Twenties Collection Jar, Amber · version B: the coffee table

Seen in the category

Where you are

Your Twenties jars and ashtrays sell on janewest.com. No ads are running from the Facebook page your site links to today.

What we saw

Meta lists catalog ads as active for up to 1,028 days on Hemper (22 ads) and up to 579 days on Session Goods (13 ads), two age-restricted stores that sell bongs. Hemper's ads carry titles like “Donut Family” and “Lucky Cat Family”; Session Goods' product copy places its glass beside barware. We can't see what the ads show.

What it suggests

The two longest-listed ads among the brands we checked are catalog ads for glass their stores shape or style as something else. Whether that framing is why they last, we can't see: uneven review fits just as well.

What's missing

A brand in the category whose glass reads, at a glance, as cocktail-era barware for the home.

Why it matters

Your collection is named for the 1920s. The Twenties jar and ashtray can be shot as cocktail-era barware on a bar cart: the reframe 3 of Hemper's ad titles and Session Goods' store use, done in your own style (untested with Meta review).

How we'd test it

  • One jar ad first, on a small budget, to see what review does with it.
  • Then the bar cart against the coffee table (version B), same jar, equal budget. The signal: review passes inside 72 hours; add-to-cart rate versus the coffee-table version. If the bar cart loses, the room was wrong, not the reframe.
  • The ashtray waits until the jar clears. An ashtray is more likely to be read as a tobacco accessory.
  • Rejected, then rejected again on one appeal: we drop the reframe for this account, both versions, and don't try the ashtray.

Proof

  • Hemper: the “Donut Family”, “Milk & Cookies Family” and “Lucky Cat Family” sets, live up to 1,028 days in Meta's data.
  • Session Goods: some of its product copy places the pieces beside barware (“barware” in 8 of 147 products); its catalog ads have been listed up to 579 days.

What we can't see yet

  • What's inside Hemper's and Session Goods' ads. Their pages are age-restricted, so we read their stores, not their ads. The ads may show the product plainly and last for another reason.
  • Whether “live” means delivering. And they may last because catalog ads are reviewed differently, not because of how they look, in a way a new account's single ads wouldn't share. That's why one ad goes first.
  • Whether you've run ads before, from this page or another, and review turned them down, or chose other channels on purpose.

The Only Football Thing Allowed In

Video, 15 seconds, 9:16, plus a companion static · Gameday pennant and dad hat

Our honest test bet

Where you are

Your Gameday pennant, dad hat and football ashtray are in the shop, and you posted the football ashtray in August.

What we saw

Puffco's longest-running US ads sell an event, PuffCon, the longest at 38 days. None of its ads (59 live when we read them on 21 Sep) links to a device page.

What it suggests

In this category, a dated moment carries an ad that can't be about the product.

What's missing

Your posts call the season. No ad does yet.

Why it matters

Football season now, holiday hosting next. The Gameday set and the Twenties pieces become what you put out when people come over, then gifts before Black Friday.

How we'd test it

  • Hosting and gifting framing against idea 1's jar ad, at equal budget. The signal: click-through, then gift-card, pennant and hat sales from 2 November.
  • After 7 days, if click-through is below idea 1's jar ad, we drop the season framing.

Proof

  • PuffCon: 31 of Puffco's ads (59 live when we read them on 21 Sep), and all 5 of its concepts live 30+ days.
  • Storz & Bickel shows a device on a football pitch, on 3 ads live 74 days (German page, framing only).
  • Your Gameday ashtray post of 21 Aug.

What we can't see yet

We see what runs, not what review turned down, so event ads may simply get a looser review. And PuffCon is Puffco's own festival; this idea borrows the season, not a festival.

The video

A 15-second hosting reel, script ready for the call.

Which Twenties Are You?

Static, as a Meta sign-up form ad · Twenties Collection Jar, all 8 colors

Our honest test bet

Where you are

You already sell to your list: your April subscribers-only sale.

What we saw

All of Puffco's ads (59 live when we read them on 21 Sep) land on the event or the merch page, never a device page, and all 32 of its concepts use “Learn more” or “See details”; none uses “Shop now”.

What it suggests

Meta brings people in on something the rule allows, and the product the rule blocks is sold somewhere else.

What's missing

A way for Meta traffic to reach your full range without it appearing in any ad.

Why it matters

Meta grows your list with the glass you can advertise. Your emails then sell your full range, under your own rules.

How we'd test it

  • A sign-up ad built on the Twenties colors. The signal: cost per sign-up, and the share of new sign-ups who buy from email within 30 days.
  • After 7 days or 100 sign-ups, if a sign-up costs more than a subscriber brings you in 30 days of email sales, we stop it.

Proof

  • All of Puffco's ads (59 live when we read them on 21 Sep) land on the event or merch page, never a device page.
  • Neither peer uses sign-up forms in any ad we hold: an open lane, not a proven one.

What we can't see yet

  • Whether your email platform lets you sell your full range to that list. We'd check that before launch; if it doesn't, this idea doesn't run.
  • Whether Meta approves a sign-up form ad for a brand in this category.
